Caleta de Fuste Beach
Main features

A natural refuge for the whole family
If you are looking for a quiet bay on the east coast of Fuerteventura, Caleta de Fuste Beach, also known as Playa del Castillo, has a blue flag and offers you a haven of peace where the waters seem to whisper instead of roar. Known as Playa del Castillo (Castle Beach) after the old fortification that guards the area, this coastal spot is characterised by its crescent-shaped shore, golden sands and a welcoming atmosphere ideal for the whole family.
Located to the east of Fuerteventura, in the municipality of Antigua, is this beach that has seen the writer of these lines grow up. Protected from the strongest winds thanks to its shell shape, its sea is calm and shallow, which makes it a perfect place for those who wish to swim in peace and quiet or take up water sports in complete tranquillity.
Its soft, golden sand evokes the warmth of the Majorero sun, making it the ideal place to enjoy a calm day at the beach.

Caleta de Fuste beach: strategic and vibrant location
Located just a few minutes’ drive from the airport, this beach has a lively tourist area that has grown up around what was once a small fishing village. Today, you’ll find a wide range of accommodation, restaurants and shops concentrated along the promenade and the surrounding area. But don’t expect a bustling atmosphere: although the area is popular, it retains a relaxed air where the sea breeze invites you to take a leisurely stroll.
Activities for all ages
For those who want to take a different kind of dip, this is one of the few beaches in Fuerteventura that has water sports clubs where you can take windsurfing or paddle surfing lessons in safer conditions than other beaches on the island. In addition, the bay is a fantastic place to start snorkelling and there is a diving club and a water activity centre with pedaloes, jet skis, kayak rides and paddle surfing for hire. You can also just lie in the sun and let the sand embrace you.
Mini golf, tennis and paddle tennis: Nearby you will also find mini golf, tennis and paddle tennis courts where you can rent rackets.
Typical food at a good price: There are also restaurants such as El Frasquita or La Perlita, which serve typical Canary Island home-made dishes and which you can enjoy with beautiful views of the whole beach.
Enchanting sunsets: As the sun sets, the sky takes on shades ranging from pink to orange, covering the beach in a veil of serenity. You will soon discover that a walk along the promenade and the gardens surrounding the beach will become a must every evening.
