Fuerteventura is on yellow alert for storms due to the passage of the Olivier squall.

From 06:00 to 15:00 on Wednesday and rainfall of up to 15 mm in one hour. Rough seas from today, Tuesday.

The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has issued a yellow warning for rain and storms in Fuerteventura and Lanzarote due to the arrival of squall Olivier, the fifteenth of great impact this season. These adverse conditions are forecast to begin on Wednesday 9 April at 06:00 hours and last until 15:00 hours on the same day, with accumulated rainfall of up to 15 mm in one hour.

In addition, the Canary Islands Government, through the Directorate General for Emergencies, has declared a pre-alert situation for coastal phenomena in the western islands, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, from 07:00 hours on Tuesday 8 April. Bad sea conditions are expected with swell of 2.5 to 4 metres and winds from the south and west with speeds of between 20 and 38 km/h.

The AEMET has also activated orange and yellow warnings in other islands of the Canary archipelago due to the expected adverse weather conditions.
